Buddy & Holly are two 8.5yr Hound/Labrador littermates who were surrendered to OMVS by their owners as they were moving and would become unable to care for their beloved pets.

The girls at OMVS all pitched in very hard to find the dogs a home as quickly as possible as their previous owners did not want them to live out their lives in a cage. (Understandably at that age.).
We called clients who had pets similar to these dogs, hoping they may be able to facilitate another four legged friend, but with no luck.

The days passed, and the dogs became less social and more depressed.
With posters up, and having contacted local rescue facilities, due to Buddy’s inter-animal aggression, we became less hopeful every day.

Until one client with a big heart came into OMVS and noticed the sad faces of these wonderful dogs. Though she would be unable to adopt either dogs, she agreed to try her hardest to assist us in finding these beauties a wonderful forever home.

Within 2 days she had successfully found both dogs a forever home, with employees she worked with.

Holly has gone to live on a farm with a very active family; she has taken up snowshoeing weekly and makes a wonderful addition to the new family.

And Buddy has gone to be the only “child” with a couple who plan to take him fishing with them in the summer.
